A further 28 people ranging in age were injured when gunfire erupted at a block party, with three in critical condition in hospital. The deceased female victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the man was declared dead at a local hospital a short time later.
Acting Commissioner Richard Worley for the Baltimore Police Department said officers had received numerous calls reporting a shooting at the 800 block of Gretna Court in the Brooklyn Homes area of South Baltimore just after 12.30am.
When police arrived they located multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds, he told a press conference Sunday morning.
'We located one female adult deceased on the scene and nine additional victims were transported from the location to area hospitals. Additionally, we had 20 other victims walk into hospitals throughout the region,' he said.
