National News See other National News Articles Title: Former senior FBI official reveals that truth about the Mar-a-Lago raid Former senior FBI official reveals that truth about the Mar-a-Lago raid July 3, 2023 by Robert Ayers A former senior FBI official just admitted that he had "strong concerns" about the agency's unprecedented raid on former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate. The former FBI official, according to Just the News, is Steven D'Antuono. He is the former assistant director of the FBI's Washington Field Office. D'Antuono recently testified before the House Judiciary Committee. The committee's chairman, U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), subsequently sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland detailing some of what D'Antuono told the committee. "Strong concerns" According to Jordan, D'Antuono, during his congressional testimony, indicated that he had "strong concerns" about the FBI's raid on Mar-a- Lago. Jordan writes: During his testimony, Mr. D’Antuono expressed strong concerns with the [Justice] Department’s pursuit of the raid and noted several unusual features in the Department [of Justices’s] handling of the case. Mr. D’Antuono, who had over two decades of FBI experience, noted his frustration that the FBI was going to be "left holding the bag again" with respect to the search of President Trump’s residence. According to Jordan, D'Antuono described to his committee "several abnormalities about the Department's actions in pursuing its investigation of President Trump." The abnormalities, in D'Antuono's view, are as follows: The FBI's Miami field office did not conduct the search, the DOJ did not assign a U.S. attorney's office to the matter, the FBI did not first seek consent to effect the search, and the FBI refused to wait for President Trump's attorney to be present before executive the search. "Dual-tier system of justice" The foregoing regards the unprecedented raid that President Joe Biden's FBI carried out at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in early August 2022. And, the raid regarded Trump's alleged mishandling of classified documents. More recently, Biden's DOJ, via special prosecutor Jack Smith, indicted Trump on 37 charges in relation to this allegation. The indictment, just like the raid, is unprecedented in that it is the first time that a sitting president has used his justice department to go after his top political rival. Trump has pled not guilty to the charges. He maintains that he has done nothing wrong and that Smith is running interference for Biden's 2024 campaign by trying to essentially put a stop to Trump's. Not only has Trump pled not guilty but his attorney, Alina Habba, has insisted that Trump will not accept a plea deal - were one to be offered - from the DOJ. Habba said: You take a plea deal to make something go away. That’s an admission of guilt. He would never admit guilt because there was nothing wrong with declassifying documents, taking documents with you… Habba added, "The only thing that was wrong was the raid on his home and the complete dual-tier system of justice that we’re seeing here when the Biden family is being treated completely differently than the Trump family." Poster Comment: There was a distinct reason Merrick Garland was not allowed a seat on the Supreme Court and this boondoggle against Trump is a prime example of why.
