World News See other World News Articles Title: Elton John Testifies for Defense in Spacey Trial Elton John Testifies for Defense in Spacey Trial (ConservativeInsider.org) – Kevin Spacey, 63, has pleaded not guilty in London following a years-long investigation of inappropriate conduct between 2001 and 2013 while he lived and worked in London. The men alleging inappropriate conduct by Spacey say that they were aggressively groped, assaulted while unconscious, and that they endured ongoing unwelcome advances. At the time Spacey was the artistic director of the Old Vic theater in London. The two-time Academy Award winner called Elton John as a witness as there were a handful of incidents for the singer to provide insight on. One of these was one of Elton John’s lavish parties in the early 2000’s. Another incident allegedly happened after a show, but John was unable to corroborate any details as he claims that when a show is over, he makes a made dash to his car to avoid interaction with the insufferable British paparazzi. The Southwark Crown Court allowed video testimony from Elton John and his husband David Furnish in which neither of them recalled or could produce evidence that Spacey attending their Annual Gala Ball at their Windsor home the year of the alleged attack. Furnish further confirmed that Spacey attended in 2001, not in 2004 or 2005 as alleged by the accuser. The first allegations against Spacey came in 2017 during the #metoo movement and after those initial allegations more have followed. Spacey’s career and personal life were destroyed in a matter of days regardless after the allegations became public. Spacey claims that one of the accusers shared an intimate and consensual relationship with him for an extended period. If found guilty, Spacey could face a prison term and the court is expected to render a decision very soon. The most serious charge against Spacey is for allegedly drugging a man before assaulting him. Spacey has collected evidence in his favor and admits to some poor decisions but does not concede that he acted the manner portrayed.
