Ronny Jackson (R-TX) was reportedly handcuffed at a Texas rodeo after trying to help a girl during a "medical emergency." While attending the White Deer Rodeo, Jackson, a former White House physician under former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump, went to assist a 15-year-old girl who was undergoing a medical emergency. In the ensuing confusion, Jackson was briefly handcuffed and pushed to the ground before being released. Rep. (AP Photo/Alex Brandon) Alex Brandon/AP “While assessing the patient in a very loud and chaotic environment, confusion developed with law enforcement on the scene and Dr. Jackson was briefly detained and was actually prevented from further assisting the patient,” Jackson's office said in a statement obtained by the Texas Tribune. “He was immediately released as soon as law enforcement realized that he, as a medical professional, was tending to the young girl’s medical emergency.” Related video: Ronny Jackson's Response to Being Detained at Rodeo Raises Eyebrows (Newsweek) It added that Jackson had been in the stands for the rodeo and was not drinking any alcohol. Tam Terry, the local sheriff, said his office was “reviewing the incident.” He added that it was unclear who actually detained Jackson, as personnel from the Carson County Sheriff’s Office, first responders for White Deer, and emergency personnel from neighboring Gray County were all on the scene. Linda Dianne Shouse, a home healthcare and traveling nurse, shed light on the situation in an interview with CNN, saying the situation became chaotic when law enforcement personnel arrived. “He was trying to tell them that he was a doctor and probably trying to tell him who he was, to be honest. And they were screaming that they did not effing care who he was,” she said. “And the next thing I knew, they had him on the ground, grabbed him by the shirt, threw him on the ground, face first into the concrete, and had him in cuffs.” She added that the police quickly uncuffed him after finding out who he was and were apologetic. Poster Comment: When we worked concert security remembering faces was easy. And deciding who to throw out was not a problem. If there was a fight, everyone involved got the boot.
