Durham Teacher Arrested on Felony Charges

Kara Hill had no comment as she left the courthouse Tuesday.

(03/29/05 - DURHAM) — A Durham high school teacher is accused of making inappropriate advances toward a 16-year-old female student.

Kara Hill, 30, surrendered to police yesterday, posted bond, and left the Durham County Courthouse in a hurry Tuesday morning. Hill is charged with two felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a student.

Warrants allege both incidents happened late last year at Northern High School, where Hill teaches P.E. and English. The accuser is a 16-year-old girl.

Hill is suspended with pay as the investigation continues. She will appear in court again in May. (2 images)
