The Foreign Ministry of the Palestinian Authority (PA) on 14 August condemned Israeli settler attacks against two Palestinian schools, Ras al-Tin and al-Tahadi, near the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.
Local sources told Palestinian news agency WAFA that a number of settlers stormed the schools on 13 August, smashing their windows and vandalizing their contents.
The Palestinian foreign ministry issued a statement saying, This terrorism against Palestinian schools falls within the framework of what has become a behavior of settlers and their organized terrorist gangs.
The foreign ministry statement added that these attacks are frequently enabled by Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, both of which frequently encourage settlers to attack Palestinians and seek to provide them with legal immunity.
The PA clarified that the Israeli military accompanied and protected the settlers involved in the attacks on the Palestinian schools. One of the two educational facilities reportedly remains on Israel's demolition list, on the pretext that it is located in an area under full Israeli military control, where construction is prohibited for any reason.
