Russia is preparing a big offensive.
Newsweek, citing a source close to the Ukrainian government, states that the Russian army is preparing a new offensive for next spring.
The publication writes that the Ukrainian authorities and commanders "very likely expect the Russians to begin preparations in the fall in order to make a big breakthrough in the spring".

SEE MAP. Makes sense but I expect it sooner rather than later, maybe late September. Ukrainians are running low on soldiers trained, willing and able to fight. The Russians are close to a breakthrough at several points in the Donbass. They are already skirmishing in Sumy. See the map. All electricity and rail traffic for Kharkov and the northern Donbass comes through Sumy.
I don't think the Russians will bother that much with Kiev until after Odessa and Kharkov have fallen. They might send a force towards Kiev to make the Ukrainians pull soldiers from other areas to protect Zelensky.
