I've read Benjamin Franklin's autobiography, and I'm skeptical that he actually said (or wrote) that. He probably would not have used "when" like that -- that wasn't his style -- and he almost certainly would not have used the phrase "the bad guy".
Does anybody here have any proof that Franklin really said that? Thanks.
