I'd known Melissa, nickname Daria, for 5 or 6 years. We'd only been dating for a few months. I was at her place and she told me she was thinking of quitting her nursing job at Hospital City. I asked her why and she told me that they were forcing the Covid shots on everybody and refusing would lead to her firing.
I told her not to quit because she wouldn't be eligible for unemployment insurance. "Let the bastards fire you. I can help until you get back on your feet."
I guess she figured that if she could survive breast cancer, two little shots wouldn't hurt her. She never let me know. I suppose we were too "new" for her to be beholden to me.
Anyway, Sunday September 26 was a pleasant, sunny Fall day. Daria was outside tending her flowers when she died. One of her neighbor's reported the body to the police. I don't remember what was so important in my life that I wasn't with her, I was probably with one of my buddies working on a project or something. I might have been able to save her or at least get her help had I been there. I had basic medic training from a previous job. That wasn't meant to be. Today is the two year milestone.
Much later I found out the cause of death was a massive myocardial infarction (heart attack). She was 55, divorced (after her cancer), not much family to speak of. Daria was one of 12 to 15 friends that have died since the bullshit mandates. To be honest, I lost count after the first ten or so. I don't remember if she was the first friend, but certainly the first girlfriend that died from Bidet's shots.
I fall in love too easily.
