First Black Jesus Movie Aims To Unite Blacks And Jews

2006-05-31 -- WDC MEDIA NEWS

(LOS ANGELES) -- "Color of the Cross," a Nu-Lite Entertainment production, is an independent, biblically charged religious biopic based on the last 48 hours of Christ’s life and stands to be the most controversial depiction of Jesus to date. In this gripping, two-hour epic, Jesus is portrayed as a black Jew. This retelling of the biblical story from a black perspective seeks to repair the anti-Semitism that has been associated with the story of Christ.

The inclusion of Black Jews during Passover in the film makes a clear statement toward the shared history of African and the Middle Eastern cultures without being offensive. Unlike "Passion of the Christ," "Color of the Cross" chose not to focus on the bloody torture of Christ’s crucifixion. Instead the film focuses on the human pain and suffering that Christ, the Disciples, and Christ’s family endured. "Color of the Cross" reaches across a cultural divide to inspire and challenge its viewers intellectually.

According to the film’s director, Jean Claude LaMarre, "To watch a black man on screen, being referred to as rabbi, or to see him partaking in a Seder meal and observing Passover really blurs the lines that divide blacks and Jews in this country. We are part of the same history." "Color of the Cross" seeks to stimulate and awaken peace and unity between all races of people.

Recent programs such as the History Channel’s "Warriors of the Bible" clearly shows the diversity of cultures as they existed in the geographical region where the Bible stories occurred. And like many of the recent programs flooding the media such as the Book of Judas, Ron Howard’s "The Da Vinci Code," etc, "Color of the Cross" also bases its story not just on scriptural interpretation but other historical data with many interpretations pointing to the fact that Christ very well may have been dark skinned.

The film will have a theatrical release in October 2006. Revealing clips and exclusive information can be found at: http://www.colorofthecross.com/

Note to the Editors -- The film is a Nu-Lite Entertainment production, and producers are Rev. Cecil "Chip" Murray, Jessie Levostre, Kenneth Halsband, Executive Producers Lila Aviv, Paul Noe, Edy Lahens, Marc Porterfield, Michele Gonda and Co-producer Marcello Thedford. (1 image)

Well here's a question that begs to be asked.

If Jesus were black, then how come All of Africa wasn't Christian before the White Man Got There? Here's another question. Why weren't they all Jewish? I mean, one would think that if Jesus were actually black, that his word would have spread amongst his own people well before anywhere else.

Crazy thought I know right?

What's that Mr. Nipples? You want me to ask the nice lady about her rack?.

Blacks who fail the tests are raised in the same country, taught in the same schools by the same teachers and from the same books.

The Nationalist Party was fond of murdering or imprisoning any and all leadership that developed in the Black community in South Africa. Often they they had only themselves to blame when groups lacking focus and responsible leaders preformed brutal and unnecessary murders often using the nasty technique known as 'necklacing.' Yes, I am aware of the Church Street Massacre. And I am aware that Nelson Mandela is the founder of Umkhonto we Siswe ("Spear of the People").

I am also aware of the Sharpsville Massacre, and the many thousands of Black men women and children killed maimed and tortured under the brutal regime in South Africa that angered people like Mandela to take up arms much as the French resistance did against similar people as an a Xhosa lawyer from the Transkei and others faced off with in the fight to end the oppressive brutality of Apartheid.

Americans have little clue what it was like to be forced to live without even citizenship in their own country, to be forced to live in barren concentration camp like "homelands" under this system where men could stay at home and starve with their loved ones or live in same sex barracks getting poverty level wages seeing their families once a year if lucky.

When you faced and implacable enemy who denied your very humanity, gave no hope for a future for you and your children, gave you no citizenship and made you carry an internal passport that was often the main tool used to start leaning on you if the authorities decided to, as the Pass Law system in South Africa gave the police unlimited authority in arresting people at will. I am actually surprised that there were not more Church Street Massacres then there were actually.

Because frankly the ANC was nowhere near as accomplished in torture and murder as the Apartheid regime, and the government's history of oppression far exceeds any list of wrongs that could be attributed to those fighting it.

I blame the Nationalist Party for creating the climate that created Church Street much more then condemn the ANC for conducting the bombing there.

I don't sanction the use of violence as occurred on Church Street, but like violence occurring in occupied France or any other land with brutal, fascist and dictatorial leaders, I understand why these things occurred.

I mention the French Resistance for a good reason, because like the ANC they too allied with Communists. As one does not argue with someone throwing you a rope or offering fellowship in fighting oppression in a struggle this intense, you work with them, accept help from them and they you.

South Africa was a place where Non-violent civil disobedience training was not allowed or sanctioned, and the fight was against an enemy who thought nothing about brutally gunning down men women and children on March 21, 1960 as they protested the brutality and tyranny of the pass law.

"During the week of March 20, 1960, the Pan African Congress requested permission to hold a public meeting on Sunday. The request to meet was refused by South African Government officials. The Pan African Congress decided to launch the Pass Book campaign on March 21 by holding a rally and demonstrated to protest these vicious laws. Unable to hold public meeting, members of the PAC called their members to meet at the Sharpsville Tennis Court grounds. (Sharpsville is the African location known as Vereeniging.)

According to eyewitness accounts, at about 1:00 a.m. on March 21, "a great number of people had assembled at the tennis court where they were addressed on the objects of the campaign and had explained to them the decision to surrender peacefully to the police for arrest that day." Further eyewitness accounts explain that, "at 1:30 a.m., a Riot Squad with two security staff cars arrived at the scene of the meeting. Without endeavoring to ask anybody what the gathering was about, the police started shooting from their vehicles into the air to frighten and disperse the crowd."

Later that morning, "a great number of armed White people invaded the location," patrolling the streets and intimidating people with the obvious intentions of causing retaliation so that they might be afforded an excuse to carry out their objective of smashing by brutal force the opposition to the Pass Laws. Leaders of the Pan African Congress continued their planned march to the police station in accordance with their decision that they were going to surrender themselves for arrest. Hundreds of people followed the leaders singing the South African Black National Anthem.

After Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe, the first national president of the PAC, and his aides had been arrested, thousands of unarmed Africans gathered at the police station in Sharpsville. The White police fired on the defenseless men, women, and children. Sixty Africans were killed on the spot and 178 were wounded. More than 80 percent of those shot were shot in the back as they fled. It is because of this incessant act of violence that we commemorate the Sharpsville Massacre.

"Recall that Zionists were the last supporters of Biko's murderers. You support the ADL, one of the heads of the Zionist hydra in America."

Yes, there was indeed an unholy alliance between Israel and the South African Government of that era. The Israelis were instrumental in helping them bypass much of the weapons and military equipment embargo, and U.S. satellites picked up a "zoo animal," code word for nuclear test occurring in South Africa that undoubtedly was the test firing of an Israeli Nuclear weapon.

I remember this well, and this was one of my earliest sources of frustration and anger at the government of Israel.

As far as the ADL goes, I support Good work they have done just as I support Israel's right to exist. I have my criticism of both as well as my praise, which is why I found your comments in your ping to Christine so amusing.

I loathe Bush and much of the co opting of the government by large trans- national corporations, but that doesn't mean I am anti-American and don't support the U.S. government when it does good things. Remember too I was in Special Forces in the United States Army and took part in the un-necessary and illegal invasion of Panama during Operation Just Cause under the auspices of GHW Bush's presidency as well.

"So it was a crime, right?"

I do not support violence like that, no. But it was a crime framed in the madness of a million daily crimes in that country, and that government had earlier gunned down defenseless people brutally merely for protesting an unjust law.

I understand why it occured, and I put the primary blame for it's occurance were it belongs, on the national party, the ruling party in the South African government of that time.

I suspect that if the white revolution comes, whites will be exactly as scrupulous as Mandela.

Whites will admit to atrocities. Internal party documents will detail brutality in the party's camps, and even point out the inconsistency with the party's principles.

But whites won't apologize either. Not this time.

My answer would have been the same if you had asked me if I had ever E mailed CAIR. I would have asked why you asked.

It's my opinion that a purely objective IQ test can't be written.

Doesn't have to purely. And there's always subjectivity in the ontology. We can define a thing called reaction time, for example, and devise various ways to measure it.

"Where's their research on Ariel Sharon? Menachem Begin?"

You would have to ask them, because as I am not part of their organization nor wish to be. In fact, I am also a proponent for a far more liberal, secular government then runs the current coalition government in that country. I am also not Jewish or of a Jewish background being born and raised Catholic.

I have found the ADL primarily useful in regards to information about people, groups and situations in this country, not theirs.

That is far more information then I needed to give you, but I was nice enough to give it to you anyway. The discussion should be about the issues and events at hand, not your fellow interlocutors in a forum, so unless you wish to reciprocate about your political associations, let's get back to the topic at hand if you indeed want to talk about it.

True that, but so much of "IQ" is intangible or is at least based on flawed assumptions. I tend to believe that much of what passes for "IQ testing" is like most other things pushed by the uberculture - it's another form of debasing humanity.

Intelligent people naturally tend to over-value intelligence.

A person with low IQ isn't objectively worse than another... just as someone with high IQ isn't better. And there's an answer no Intelligent, Educated person likes.

Science doesn't make those kinds of judgements. Intelligent people do like to make them, as least with regard to themselves as individuals. But having group identities, too, at that level of aggregation they prefer to discard the science rather than give up the belief that they are superior individuals.

I would further extrapolate that you don't necessarily believe me despite my quite extemporaneous straightforwardness, however would tale great umbrage at any sign I did not believe you when you claim "you are your own man." ;-)
