I'm not sure that PMs are the thing to be buying right now. They've been stuck in a narrow range forever and haven't tracked inflation at all. Gold should be over $4,000 now. After Bidet did that thing with Venmo (or whatever it was) making any transaction reportable to the IRS above $600, there's no reason to believe that he wouldn't do that with PMs.
If the shit hits the fan, I doubt my local coin dealer Solly would be around in a civil war type scenario. Shipping PMs is a hassle and expensive as hell to insure it.
IMHO, silver would be a better bet now. At $22/oz, it has some utilitarian value for trade and IMO has more upside potential to hold. How often do you buy something for $1,800 per whack? My mechanic, Chip, notwithstanding.
FWIW, Costco's prices were about the same as Apmex when I checked yesterday. It wasn't a deal.
I'm not sure what people are thinking. That playing games with the cashback on a credit card is some real cheesedick loser shit. I'd be more worried about food and water and how the hell I'm gonna flush my toilets if I was Mr. Average Citizen.
I hadn't had a steak for weeks, maybe a couple of months, because my wife refuses to buy anything that she considers grossly overpriced, and nowadays that's most things at the grocery store.
So a couple of weeks ago I decided to celebrate some minor victory or achievement here -- can't remember just what it was, but it seemed to do -- with a good steak. So I drove myself to town (like Esso, I don't get outside of the wire much these days) to buy myself a rib-eye steak to grill. Had to buy a two-pack; they didn't have a single.
$41 for two no-so-thick steaks!
All that said, I'm thankful that I can still afford an occasional steak. I know that there are a lot of people who can't.
I cook over lump charcoal average of five days of the week I do steaks when I don't have time to slow cook brisket or leg quarters. my 14 hens keep me in eggs to eat and enough to sell to buy their next meals.
better still one of the hens went broody so I let a couple of my roosters run with the hens in about ten more days I'll see what becomes of the fifteen eggs she is sitting on.
update two of my easter eggers went broody, first hen hatched two eggs yesterday so like a relay runner another brood hen took up sitting the rest of the clutch. these eggs were laid over a two week period.
