Jaynes was reportedly found with two gunshots to the head, according to AmarketNews.com. (Not one gunshot, but two.) The death was reportedly ruled a “suicide,” which begs the question of how a person can shoot themselves in the head twice.

She apparently died in November of 2019, a month or so before Covid hit the news. But also seems she was a fiction novelist not an expose journalist.

"Begs the question" historically has NOT meant "raises the question" or "brings up the question" or "leads to the question" or anything like that. "Begging the question" in rhetoric and logic historically meant assuming a premise that had not been proven true. More recently, it has come to refer to an argument in which the premises assume the conclusion without supporting it.

And it is not possible for a single person to shoot "themselves" in the head. He (or she) can shoot only himself (or herself). "Themselves" can NEVER refer to a single person. That's the way English works. English has singular reflexive pronouns and plural reflexive pronouns. The singular ones refer to a single person; the plural refer to more than one person. This is seventh grade English. People who write for a living ought to know this stuff.

To be unable to do addition and subtraction is not dishonorable, but it should disqualify one from keeping score at a cornhole tournament.
