The Israelis were totally unprepared for drone warfare. Maybe Hamas will put those Israeli prisoners on rooftops. Maybe Hezbollah will join in.

I expect the prisoners / hostages (in the case of civilians) to be used as human shields to complicate, or try to complicate, the Israeli response. Alternatively, they could be used for prisoner transfers of those held in Israeli jails. Those are the best uses Hamas could make of them, practically speaking.
