FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened near the intersection of Lake Avenue and Maplecrest Road. Officers initially responded to the scene at 12:05 p.m. Sunday after reports of a road rage incident, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department. There were also reports that somebody was shot.
Police say a man was shot in the arm and another person who wasnt involved in the incident was shot.
Based off statements given to police, the incident stemmed over road rage between two vehicles. The driver of one, a man, reportedly got out of his vehicle, approached the other driver and battered him.
The driver then shot the man in the arm. A person not involved was also struck. Both people shot suffer non-critical injuries, according to FWPD.
The driver that fired the gun was arrested for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. The other driver has pending battery charges.
The situation is still under investigation.
