These were pillars of western jurisprudence. Over the eons, meaning past few decades, these foundational principles have become arcane knowledge. The presumption of innocence has become a theoretical abstract ideal, no longer applicable in the real world. While the presumption of innocence is not explicitly written in the U.S. Constitution, it is implicitly embedded in the Fifth Amendment and a necessary component to due process: Due process generally means the government cannot deprive you of your freedom or property unless they follow the proper procedures. Your right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty is fundamental to due process. The presumption of innocence is a constitutional right, even if it is not directly addressed. Somewhere in the 1980s or 1990s the term drive by media came about. This was an inference to a drive by shooting. Like a drive by shooting, the media would do a character assassination on someone, and then once the job was completed, move on and let people figure out the facts later. This media character assassination has bled into the judicial process. This bastardizing of the judicial process has deteriorated to such a degree that we now throw members of Congress out based on accusations. Subscribe At this point in time, it is clear that the media is not merely biased it is fake and a deep state mind control operation. Yet the character assassinations still work. Arguably, the worst of human traits is sadism. For many, taking pleasure in other human beings pain is a pastime. The fake news media utilizes this character flaw on a daily basis. Yes, trying legal cases in the media is not a new phenomenon. The Lindberg kidnapping in 1932 and the 1935 trial come to mind. Still, it looks like a new precedent has been set. Recently, New York GOP Rep. George Santos was expelled from the U.S. House of Representatives making him the sixth representative to ever be removed from Congress. A two thirds vote is required to remove a representative from Congress. Representative Santos has been indicted with fraud charges, although he has not been convicted. Santos is being accused of misusing campaign funds for personal use. Thats right, two thirds of the House of Representatives voted to throw another member out based on accusations of a crime. I wonder how many of them were attorneys? Some critics of this move, including Democrat Senator Fetterman argued that Senator Menendez has been accused of much more serious charges and has not been removed from the Senate. Allegedly, $480,000 in cash was seized in Menendezs home in envelopes and clothing. Menendez also has not been convicted. Prior to Santos, members of Congress have only been removed from Congress after being convicted of crimes. The exception to that was after the War Between the States, members that served in the Confederacy were removed from Congress. Santos is the first member of Congress to be removed based solely on an accusation. This presumption of guilt has found its way into Florida politics as well. Recently, Republican Party of Florida Chairman, Christian Zeigler, has been accused of rape. Zeigler maintains his innocence to the charges. Governor Ron DeSantis and his wife Casey DeSantis are reportedly very close personal friends of Christian and Bridget Zeigler. Still, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a statement asserting that Zeigler is a friend and that he is innocent till proven guilty, while simultaneously demanding that Zeigler resign. A woman alleged that she was in a long term three way consensual relationship with Christian Zeigler and his wife Bridget. Bridget Zeigler is the co founder of a common sense organization called Florida Moms for Liberty, and sits on the Sarasota County School board. According to the reports, Zeigler is also accused of illegally videoing the sexual encounters of the couple with the woman. Allegedly this is a woman hes known for 20 years and the report references F.S. 794.011 (4) (b) which deals with sexual battery and someone that is mentally incapacitated. Translation, a very large quantity of alcohol involved. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
