Andre Braughers cause of death has been revealed. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star died after a months-long battle with lung cancer, his rep confirmed to Page Six Thursday.
The spokesperson shared that Braugher had been diagnosed with the disease a few months prior to his death Monday.
The publicist previously had only shared that the beloved actor died from a brief illness at the age of 61.
Braugher was best known for playing a Baltimore homicide detective named Frank Pembleton on the 90s police procedural series Homicide: Life on the Street.
More recently, his role as Raymond Holt on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, alongside Andy Samberg and Terry Crews, earned him two Critics Choice Awards and four Emmy nominations.

Damn, I actually liked him, as Pembleton on Homicide. He hated the liars that ran Baltimore.
