"I don’t see how the US avoids the Thucydides Trap here..."

Poster Comment:

Thucydides Trap means war is inevitable as a rising power challenges the dominant Empire.

Yemen shot down a $30 million CIA Reaper drone with a cheap missile. America could not invade Yemen and defeat them.

The Hamas war was designed to force Israeli to act like the thugs they are. The Muslim governments were willing to sell out the Palestinians for Trump's Abraham Accords. But over 90% of all Muslims are angry with their governments for doing nothing to stop this Israeli Genocide.

Is It Time To Rethink American Support For Israel?

"Since its 1948 foundation, the U.S. has given Israel far more in military aid than any other nation..."

(The US can get out of the conflict with Hezbollah, Iran and Yemen simply by telling Netanyahu to stop the Genocide. But the Jewish Lobby donates a lot of money to campaigns.)

Israel basically threatened the US by saying if we didn't do anything about the Houthi's they would. Would Israel actually nuke Yemen? Because there isn't really anything else they could do about them.

Israel does have some subs but I don't think they are capable of land attacks.

Far too easy to mine those waters and do it on a budget, heck Houthis could get China to supply them for free. Then watch crude prices soar.

Mining would be considered reckless and a danger to all shipping, and the Houthi's apparently are only targeting Israeli shipping right now. And sea mines would probably be relatively easy to destroy anyway.

Probably why the neocons wanted to regime change him.

One needs to find them first US side scan sonar can not and every boat is a mine sweeper, once.

Some sea drones could be made for the task. Something with a magnetic or acoustic sensor and maybe capable of submerging. Just motor it around, either automously or by remote control and bang into the targets until they detonate. Would be an interesting engineering project. Though if any US defense contractors make it they will probably end up costing $4.3 million each.

I read your post using some crazy old man voice (can't imagine who, lol) and it was hilarious. I'm scared :)

The contact mines of WWI and WWII are long past, though a mine made by the USSR in 1943 cracked the Sammual B Roberts in twain. if your influence mine sweeping signals; magnetic, seismic, pressure or acoustic (or any combination of any/all) is out of wack the mine will shut down for a predetermined amount of time rendering continued sweeping a waste of resources.

Moored mines today tend to be short tethered and self rising some with rocket assist and would have already damaged the vessel before they even knew of its presence.

Bottom mines bury quickly making detection very difficult.

It is not the explosion that damages the vessel, it is the gas bubble created by the explosion that creates a void under the vessel which in sense falls 20 or so feet trying to find water to support its mass.

They would nuke Iran. That would force Muslim governments everywhere to take action against Israel and the US. The Muslims would kick the American military out of Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain. The US would be through.

But The Chosen have this idea that the legal system will protect their ownership of oil/mining/usery assets in nations they sic their lapdogs on. Crazy enough, but what is truly concerning is lapdogs will obey.

Iran is an important ally to Russia, and Putin is well aware of the nuke threat Israel poses to Iran, and for that matter, the rest of the world. I suspect if he senses a real risk of Israel nuking Iran, he'll preemptively strike Israel's nuke sites.

I don't think so. Putin isn't a spiteful, petty homo/pedo/tranny like Bidet and the freakshow.
