Biden: "Are they stopping the Houthis? No. Are they going to continue? Yes."

Poster Comment:

Trade routes are taking longer to deliver. Shippers can raise rates. This will raise costs to consumers. Critical parts will be delayed. This will not end well.

It would be interesting if we could find out who is going short on energy (especially oil) market.

A better play is shipping. Longer routes have made ships scarce so rates have gone way up.

Good point, this whole crapshow must also be distorting insurance actuarial tables.

"US owned" is not sufficient to make them a US concern. Houtis are only attacking cargo ships headed for Israeli ports; and if the owners don't want to risk their ships, don't go therre.

Have there been any word of Insurors canceling policies of vessels making that transit?

Dunno but they should cancel a policy of a cargo headed for an Israeli port. For others, they probably just raise the rates

Later on I am looking to check any new hazards to navigation, when US mined Haiphong there was 72 hour heads up. Lloyds canceled policies of shippers still in harbor after the set time.

cargo headed for an Israeli port.

I heard the Syrian oil that was stolen was sent by tank truck thru Turkey to a port on the Mediterranean Sea and from there to refineries in Israel. ;)
