It's the good doctor's B-Day next week. I went out this morning and got her flowers, it was $195 including snacks and groceries for a couple weeks.
I wanted to take her out to a new bar I saw in New Haven a couple weeks ago on my way to the credit union and see if there was any dancing there, but the weather is really crapping out here.
She should be happy when she comes downstairs, I cleaned a lot of the black stuff out of the tub/shower earlier this week.
Join us for the party!
I can't believe she found me 43 years after drifting apart. The way she did it was genius.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM! You better slow down, I think our ages were about 15% apart back in the day, you're probably only a percent and a quarter younger than me now.
We worked front stage security for Garth Brooks in Iowa City back in 1996. That was the year we were doing shows on the road.
I was standing on corner of Stage Left. I was wearing mu straw cowboy hat. People had brought gifts for Garth to us. We put them on the corner of the stage.
Garth came over to pick them up. When he leaned over he whacked me in the hat with the head of his guitar. That was when they took the picture.
It was in the Des Moines Register on Section Two of Page One.
When I opened the hotel room door the morning of the second show to get breakfast, the door across the hall was open. This girl in the room saw me and started pointing and shouting,'IT' YOU! IT'S YOU!"
She came running out of the room still shouting while pointing at the newspaper, IT'S YOU! CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH?"
So I signed the paper for her. Then went downstairs and cleaned out the paper machine.
When we got back to Chicago, the. Ery next concert on the north side I hand a copy to Bill, one of my supervisors. He held it up and Danny D the boss said, "Tex, this is neat. I'm going to cut it out and hang it in the office."
That is one of those old memories I am grateful to recall because the meningitis wiped out so much. ;(
