...a new study claims that homegrown foods produce five times more carbon emissions than industrial farming methods. In other words, private gardens could be considered a threat to the environment.

Poster Comment:

That is because home gardens build soil. The soil biology (microbes, protozoa, nematodes, arthropods and earthworms) breathe on oxygen and breathe out CO2 which feeds the plants. GMO crops never reach 6 on a Brix scale which measures the amount of sugar in the fruit or vegetable. Organic veggies can reach 12 to 15. Photosynthesis stores carbon in the soil making for healthy soils and healthy people. Plants trade sugar for their choice of 41 items on a menu of minerals.

How dare you? Soil belongs to everyone, and Biden should get his 10%

“I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don’t care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits.” - William S Burroughs

I'm going to have a big giant garden this year.

Probably 50 tomato plants. 50 various types of peppers. A couple hundred corn plants. Some tomatillos. Hopefully some broccoli. Maybe a watermelon or two and some pumpkins. I'll also plant a lot of wild flowers around it so the pollinators come. Some other stuff too.
