This Thursday, April 4, 2024, marks the 56th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. The article below is an updated version of a piece posted on my blog Truth and Shadows on September 3, 2016. It was the product of an interview with human rights lawyer William Pepper, whose 37-year investigation into the King assassination revealed a government conspiracy to eliminate the civil-rights leader and to frame a patsy named James Earl Ray. I thought that the anniversary of his death would be an appropriate time to bring the shocking details of this horrific deep state crime to Thought Crimes and Misdemeanors and to a new readership. The original article is the most read piece Ive ever written, receiving more than 100,000 views in a single day. That occurred prior to Google changing its algorithm to crush alternative voices like mine.
My original idea was condense the article for this post, making it a quicker read. But after reading it again, I decided that everything in it needed to remain (thats what you get for me being my own editor). Pepper read this article when it was first published, and, after pointing out a couple of minor things that needed to be corrected, he endorsed what you see below.
