I have seen car covers that protect from EMPs, ditto for computers. If natural gas is available locally, converting cars in a local area would be a great idea.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think that?
No scientific data on weaponized EMP. All theory. And very little of that.
There's a LOT of info out there, even on Wikipedia.. And there are other articles on it such as this one.. How Electromagnetic Pulse Attacks Work There are many more if you look.

Saw the video of a Boeing engineer talking about this project. He said they weren't quite there yet. They hoped to take out a building sized system. He didn't sound too positive. Video has been taken down apparently.
