I knew this young lady that inherited a Cocoa farm in Ghana from her Uncle. She sent me a picture of the little pickaninnies lined up with Cocoa pods in front of them. ;)

Speaking of pickaninnies lined up with Cocoa pods, I made a killer chocolate cake the other day, a cake that old mammies fed their little chillin's, if they had the ingredients, that is.
My family (on both sides) were white sharecroppers, and they got many of their recipes from black folks in the area. And vice-versa. I learned how to cook by watching my mother (and father).
The cake part is made with cocoa, butter milk, and eggs, and the chocolate icing is boiled and poured over the warm cake.
If you lived nearby, I'd cut you a big knock out of that cake.
