For me, not knowing is worse than knowing. It probably dates back to my Company days. Old habits die hard.

My neighbor across the street was with the Sheriff's Dept. and a member of the ANG and volunteered after 9-11 changed everything. He came to me wanting money for LASIC surgery so he didn't have to take eyeglasses into combat. I gladly gave him the money, knowing he wouldn't deploy overseas for like a year after any surgery. They made him an MP picking up guys who deserted their obligations.
I took care of his property for only two years rather than a lifetime. He helps me out now when Sling Blade can't make it.
I sure as hell didn't need a single mother relying on me forever.
(Edit) I'm pretty ambivalent about the incident. He should stop wearing it until the controversy is cleared up. I'd call Tara Reade and ask her, but I'm not phone savvy enough to call Russia.
