In the 1960s, a new home was $25,000 which was affordable to working class White men. In 1940, the Census Bureau reported San Jose's population as 98% white. As of 2020, the city is 23% White. 38% Asian. 31% Latino. Mixed race 3.5%. Black population is declining, down to 2.7% Immigration destroyed California. The city's population declined 4% since 2020 due to high real estate prices. That is a net loss of 4% and includes tons of illegal aliens.
