After Democratic nominee Kamala Harris announced that she was selecting Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be her running mate in the 2024 election, a chorus of critics voiced concerns over Walz’s gubernatorial record and the newly minted Harris-Walz ticket’s agenda.
“Harris-Walz is the most anti-Catholic ticket ever,” stated CatholicVote President Brian Burch. By selecting Walz, Harris showed she is “going all-in for her far-left base.”
In the past week, many on the hard left, such as Sen. Bernie Sanders, I- VT, had publicly praised Walz and called for Harris to pick him over Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who was also reportedly a finalist to be the Democratic vice presidential candidate.
Harris picking Walz was “the most left-wing direction she could have taken,” Burch explained:
