I am thinking that the war is delayed for 3 reasons:

1) They want that battle in Kursk to get off the front pages.

2) They need to train the Iranians to operate all that new Russian equipment though Russian crews will operate them for the time being.

3) They need to distribute new weapons to Hezbollah, the Houthis and the Iraqi militias.

Maybe this weekend. DNC convention starts Monday, the 19th. A loss in Ukraine and another in the Mideast will stir up things, especially with all the riots in Chicago at the DNC.

Stay tuned. Biggest show of the decade.

It's hard to imagine the Iranians will just pick up their marbles and go home. Russia is pissed that NATO and the US is covertly participating in the Ukraine war against Russia so he should be motivated to make a point to the west using Iran as an example.

While Arabs & Persians have demonstrated great commitment to battle and willingness to die, the previous tit for tat episodes have been largely symbolic for being ineffective. I'd theorize Putin/Russia have told the Iranians to hold on for a bit while Russia organizes the hit. They are benefiting from Russian satellite & intel recon, scouting out Israel's subs which are a threat, picking out targets that will make a difference like weapons depots, and organizing with Hezbollah.

All this requires time to organize.

But... you never know. Maybe a month will go by and everyone will shrug their shoulders.

Maybe this weekend? DNC convention starts Monday. Their objective should be to show 1) how ineffective US weapons are and 2) to destroy the Israeli economy. That could be done by Monday provided Israel agreed to a ceasefire and real relief for Gaza.
