Spirulina and Astaxanthin are microalgae's that have recently been shown to be the latest emerging superfood that nourish and heal nearly every facet of the body. And Triquetra Health has recently combined both into a one daily organic supplement.

Online, March 18, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Two microalgae's, Spirulina and Astaxanthin, have recently emerged as the worlds next major superfoods. Both have been shown to have a multitude of powerful health and healing benefits for the entire body. Spirulina has been shown to be one of mother-nature's most nutrient dense food, boasting a nutritional profile that includes essential amino acids, fatty acids, Phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals. Whereas Astaxanthin is shown to be one of the worlds most powerful antioxidants that can reach and neutralize free radicals in nearly every corner of the body.

Spirulina is a blue-green fresh water alga that is considered to be one of the oldest living organisms on earth and was a food source for many ancient cultures. It has recently emerged as the next major superfood after countless research has revealed it to have a vast nutritional profile, massive nutritional density and tremendous healing properties.

Not only does it provide people a fantastic source of essential nutrients, it is also shown to be a powerful antioxidant and anti- inflammatory that helps eliminate the 2 most common causes of health related degeneration, which is free radical stress and inflammation. On top of that, Spirulina is shown to aid in brain health, cardiovascular health, boosting the immune system, alleviating radiation exposure, heavy metal removal, preventing cancer, relieving symptoms of arthritis, liver & kidney health and improving overall energy levels.

Spirulina began to receive much attention after the UN studied and began using it as a supplement to fight off world hunger and malnutrition. The UN found it to be a perfect ally in these fights because of the vast nutritional profile and nutritional density of Spirulina. It also got much acclaim after the World Health Organization gave it a stamp of approval, calling it a "the best health supplement of the 21st century." NASA has even studied Spirulina as a potential food source for astronauts that go on long space voyages.

Astaxanthin, which is derived from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis, originally began being produced for aquaculture uses in fish farms. But over the years countless research has unveiled its powerful use as a health supplement for human consumption. Researchers quickly discovered that it is a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to be up to 500 times more powerful than Vitamin E, 10 times more potent as beta-carotene and 5 times more potent than lutein.

Astaxanthin has shown to have remarkable qualities as an antioxidant. Firstly, it is one of few that have the capacity to cross the blood- brain barrier and fight off oxidative stress in the brain. Secondly, unlike other antioxidants such as Vitamin C & E, which can only work on one free radical at a time, Astaxanthin has been shown to handle as many as 19 free radicals at a time. Lastly, it is shown to stay- active as an antioxidant for much longer. Unlike many other antioxidants that are neutralized after their electrons are "used up," Astaxanthin has a much larger surplus of free electrons that it can donate to free radicals in order to neutralize them.

Triquetra Health has recently released Organic SpiruZan, which is currently one of the only supplements that combine's both Spirulina and Astaxanthin into one daily nutritional supplement for brain and total body health. Their blend of these 2 microalgae's is derived from the highest quality organic ingredients and will aid in the overall health and wellness of the body and brain.

Puff piece but all I could find on both. I started taking spirulina 6 weeks ago. My BP was 135/72 3 months ago. My BP on Friday was 125/65.

I started taking astaxanthin yesterday. I will be 80 years-old on the Sunday before Thanksgiving in 2025 if the world is still here. I will update you about the results as they come in.

In interest of full disclosure I was given a diagnosis of a potential skin cancer a few months ago. I loaded up on 8 different anthocyanins. (literally means blue flowers in Greek. Flower = Anthos.) Resveratrol is an anthocyanin. Other sources are blueberries, cranberries, red cabbage (sauerkraut), pomegranates. My cheap ass insurance company had trouble finding me a doctor willing to do a biopsy for what they were willing to pay. Finally, I found a GP. He said I did not have cancer. SO I am still taking the spirulina, 8 or 9 anthocyanins and now astaxanthin.

astaxanthin benefits

Based on the search results, astaxanthin exhibits numerous health benefits, including:

Antioxidant properties: Astaxanthin’s potent antioxidant effects may protect cells from damage, potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases.

Skin health: Research suggests that astaxanthin may aid in skin repair, reduce signs of aging, and protect against sun damage.

Cardiovascular health: Astaxanthin may help maintain healthy cholesterol levels and support overall cardiovascular well-being.

Metabolic syndrome: Studies have shown that astaxanthin may be beneficial in managing metabolic syndrome, a group of conditions that increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

Cancer prevention: Astaxanthin’s antioxidant properties may help reduce the growth of cancer cells, particularly in breast cancer.

Exercise performance: While evidence is limited, astaxanthin may boost endurance and reduce muscle and skeletal damage in mice; human studies are still needed to confirm these benefits.

Dry eye disease: Astaxanthin has been shown to be beneficial in treating mild-to-moderate dry eye disease.

Overall wellbeing: Astaxanthin is believed to promote overall wellbeing and offer benefits in overcoming various health challenges.
