LOUCHBUIE, Colo. -- A pastor in Brighton who operates safe houses in Colorado was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and sexual assaulting a 20-year-old man, police said Thursday.

Jesus Alonso Ochoa-Gomez, a 36-year-old illegal immigrant, operated a safe house for fellow illegal immigrants in Aurora and opened another safe house in Lochbuie earlier this year. The kidnapping and sexual assault allegedly took place in the Lochbuie location, police said.

On Monday, acting on an arrest warrent, Lochbuie police officers went to Ochoa-Gomez's home, but the suspect refused to open the door. Police forced themselves into the home, where Ochoa-Gomex was arrested. His pregnant wife was also at home.

It's an old game to take the inevitable bad apples in any population of peoples and try to use them to villify and slander everybody.

It would be equaly as wrong to point at Ted Bundy or John Wayne gacy and say those men are indicatve of the inherent evil of all American citizens.

Most Mexicans who come here are hard working, very decent people. This person if faound guilty should get a long prison sentence. But no one died and made him poster boy of anything.

This bad apple is here illegally. He's been arrested. He, and his family, should be deported immediately, right?

He should be adjudicated for the crimes he is accused of and if found guilty be sent to prison.

And if they sent him back to serve his time in a Mexican prison that would be fine with me too.

As for the rest of your leading statement, I do not support the mass round-up and deportation of Mexicans who are here, no.

But you already knew that before you asked this for rhetorical reasons.

Should America's judicial system be a venue for anyone in the country illegally? If so, it's fine that the additional cost should be loaded on the back of taxpayers, right?

There are certainly more than this one illegal criminal in our prison system. What's to stop him and any others returned to Mexico from recrossing the border after their sentence is served, if there is no concern about being rounded up in future?

Nothing will stop them Robin. Did you notice that the mess that left the Senate had a provision attached allowing an illegal alien 3 misdemeanors? and 1 felony? arrest/conviction? The dogs never specified whether those crimes were committed in America while they were here illegally. What a cluster, not so much by the illegals, they're doing what illegals do, but by our pols and the feckless "pro- immigrant" mob.

Maybe we should send them a link to the govt's own stats.

When will the sheeple see that there is an outside force at work here? No one who loves America would allow illegal criminals entry if they had the power to stop it.

People who break laws in other countries are subject to be held accountible for that.

We jail and imprison far too many people for crimes that don't deserve the penalty rang they have, or should not be illegal in the first place.

Anything to do with smoking, manufacturing or sale of cannabis is foolish to lock anyone up over for example. It should be legal and regulated. Period.

The problems with the judicial system are deeper and more systemic them merely whether a Mexican citizen should be locked up in a U.S. jail or prison. But I would be more then happy to cut the cost of incarceration by letting these people serve their sentences in Mexico.

I understand up to 30% of the US prison population are illegal aliens. Rather than have their lodging expenses passed on to Joe Shmuck, deport them. Right?

You can't regulate a right or something that is legal.

Excellent post, JT.

GW Bush is responsible for the outrage over situations like this. He is constantly telling Americans not to concern ourselves with 20 million people who have invaded our nation because they are mostly good-hearted, hard-working people.

The obvious question is: If you do zero screening of the invaders, how in the hell do you know anything at all about them? Of course, the answer is you do not znd it is stupid to give an entire class of law breakers a pass just because they speak Spanish.

We do know this much about EVERY illegal immigrant: They made a conscious decision to ignore US borders and immigration laws. They are criminals and the sooner GW Bush gets his head screwed on straight, the better off America will be!

no one in power gives a rat's rear end about America or its people.

The American People are simply a tax base to hand out welfare benefits from.

Milton Friedman said long ago, "Welfare and Immigration do not mix." The net result of having both is national bankruptcy, but most liberals do not understand this basic concept. You cannot spend money you do not have and you cannot hand out Government Benefits to an ever-increasing population without going bankrupt.

One or the other has to go. Which one to choose is the only question.

Alcohol is regulated, as is tobacco. You don'tbelieve alcohol should be regulated? You think 14 year olds should be able to buy beer?

You can legalize cannabis and regulate it and get far better results then a prohibition does. That is simply a fact.

Perhaps. That depends og the particulars of the policies and depends on how Mexico and the United Ststes decided to do this.

We do know this much about EVERY illegal immigrant: They made a conscious decision to ignore US borders and immigration laws. They are criminals and the sooner GW Bush gets his head screwed on straight, the better off America will be!

Of course, once you go to the extremes of breaking a major law, like immigration, you're probably willing or MUST break a number of other laws to survive here (and it IS a major law - in many countries like, ironically MEXICO - they would shoot you if you tried to sneak into their country. I believe this is the fate of Guatemalans sneaking into Mexico).

If you're illegal, you can't work here legally. You need fakes ID's and forms and papers to survive. This means you have to lie about your status and create fake papers or steal identities constantly. It also means that you are frequently driving illegally, and without insurance (breaking yet another law). Everything you do here is based on lies and falsifications, so inevitably you have to break laws to stay here and keep employed. You're not breaking ONE law - you're breaking a whole SYSTEM of laws. This is something people don't take into consideration.

YES !!

And how sickening is it that the system that creates laws chooses to selectively enforce them? IndieTX is right, if we lose the illegal issue, all else is a non issue.

I agree. If we lose the illegal issue, it shows that we don't have the will to defend our own borders, protect our own sovreignty, define our immigration process and uphold our own laws. It's the KEY issue. If we allow much of our country to become innundated by Mexican peasants (up to 40% of Mexicans per recent polls), this will no longer BE the United States. It will be de facto part of Mexico.

I disagree. Parents can't always keep an eye on kids. I worked five years at 7 Eleven next to campus while going to the University of Oregon after getting out of the Army the first time. Kids are clever, and parents don't have the time and lose interest in direct proportion to how much more clever and driven to get booze kids get as they get older.

You are wrong, and not being realistic.

No, they will just be back in a few days. Back and out of prison. Better tp have them locked up.

What we really need is a Devil's Island where these types can be forced to grow their own food and otherwise earn their keep. Then we could double the sentence for any crime committed while on illegal status. Also put in place a ten year term for re-entering the country after serving a sentence and being deported.

This is something we can touch, feel and see every day of our lives. This nation will stop being America if we sit back and allow the PTB to run over us. The increased taxation alone should be enough to wake our fellow sheeple up. With forced immigration (see it’s relative, forced integration) the PTB are changing the demographic of America and I've had all I can take.
