FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A man is accused of having a load of fentanyl and heroin in an Airbnb he was renting near downtown Fort Wayne, according to Allen Superior Court documents released Friday. Mervin Bryant, 38, faces two counts of dealing in a narcotic drug, a Level 2 felony.
Thursday, FWPD detectives saw him leaving through the back door of an apartment east of downtown. The apartment was being rented through Airbnb from Sept. 4-26, according to court documents.
Police executed a search warrant at the apartment just before 11:30 p.m. and found more than 10 lbs of fentanyl, over 1 lb of heroin, a kilogram press, multiple digital scales, and numerous packages of a cutting agent in different colors, according to court documents.
Police noted in the documents Bryant already had multiple felony warrants. He was taken into custody in a traffic stop.
Bryant has an initial court hearing scheduled for Monday morning.
