POLAHA SAID WELLER HAD BEEN SHOT IN THE CHEST WHILE ON THE THIRD FLOOR OF THE COURTHOUSE. THE SHOT IS BELIEVED TO HAVE COME FROM OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. POLAHA MENTIONED THAT IT'S NOT KNOWN IF THE SHOT WAS MEANT FOR WELLER, OR IF IT MIGHT SIMPLY BE A RANDOM GUNSHOT.

Lots of comments regarding this judge popping up in legal blogs around the net...NONE of them speak very highly of the judge...'tyrant' and 'out of control' are words I see associated with those comments.

I noticed. In lieu of rope and a tree, this works.

..."Weller, a Reno lawyer, was elected to the bench in 2004. He hosted a legal advice program on a Reno radio station from 1989 to 2002 and wrote a legal advice column in the Sunday Reno Gazette-Journal from 2000 to 2004. He once led opposition to a county bond issue to build a new courthouse."...

Found this little blurb about the guy at another site.

If the people don't like the guy, all they have to do is unelect him. Much more civil than trying to snuff someone out cause you don't like the color of their hair or whatever.

I understand your frustration because I'm frustrated also.

So we have a choice.

You and I and everyone knows that choice.

Want to discuss the pros and cons of each choice on another thread?

I agree with you Jethro. I think the guy probably had it coming.

You know when we consider the law of the land and the constitution and such - we should also consider the whole idea of 'common law'. Under common law everyone must agree before it is a law. This is the type of law that we historically respect and works out for the benefit of the people.

The constitution is nice, but it is just a piece of paper and nobody pays any attention to what it says. especially supreme court, president, congress.

I think that common law is a similar concept to 'street justice'.

I say there's a happy sniper tonight who is toasting himself. he did such a good job planning it - unlikely he'll be caught.

The COnstitution is exactly what gives people the right to throw off tyranny with any means necessary and what TheStateInc hopes you'll forget.

Actually Indie, that right is inherent. Rights do not come from constitutions; constitutions might or might not respect rights.

'Tis true though the 2nd amendment is a nod in this direction.

We can debate what degree of provocation justifies open revolt; in one instance, for some freedom-loving men, it was a small thing, the last in a long train of abuses, with a pattern of growing tyranny.

dee, are you aware that in child custody cases that it's not about what's fair and best for the children. the parent who makes the most money and is most able to pay child support is the one who loses custody. why? because the state makes a certain percentage of every child support dollar collected. further CPS is a huge government racket in which judges play their parts at destroying families and even using these children, in many cases, for their own sexual gratification. you can't vote these sons of bitches out.

Shooting at judges is exactly the kind of third world behavior I'm resisting.

An arbitrary government is exactly the kind of third world institution the sniper (if that's what it was) was resisting.

If judges wish the respect they deserve under a regime of liberty and the rule of law, then they need to support such a regime, rather than undermine it.

The mock scandal cry of "Anarchy!" in defense of a system that has slipped its chains and is in fact itself lawless is either hypocrisy or blindness. IMO.

Law firms who persue these cases are entitled to a "reasonable" portion of the child care payments.

And the law firms get to decide what is " reasonable". (That is wrtitten in the law which was written by, LAYWERS.)

So the downsized Dad, is now in effect an indetured servent to a law firm, forever, due to the compounding effects of interest. And the 20% cut taken out of the payments by the law firm.

It is deep corruption and is enough to make one act antisocial, as the system has been abusesively anti social to an individual.

Chrissie.......I will not condone taking the 'law' like this into our own hands!

Yes, where is the justice for Kahl, Weavers, et al? It sure as hell wasn't tied up with this judge. The two are not connected. Those are federal incidences.....and this guy is a county judge.

Not all child support is paid through the courts, so the 'rake-off' or 'skimming' doesn't necessarily wash. Generally, support payments are ordered to be paid THRU the court after a paying parent, for whatever reason, doesn't pay direct. The one parent due support could apply to a collection agency to collect for her. Of course, they would get paid for the service.

I love the broad brush being used to paint all these people. The terrorists among us, I guess. Do you honestly believe that a person, man or woman, who has been ordered to pay child support and some bills and to make spousal payments for a year or whatever while wifey poo gets some education to get a job is gonna go on a website for BAD JUDGES and talk about what a swell deal he got?

As for a judge using 'tactics'.......when you have a guy demanding that something be checked by a certain agency/group/person, and it has already been done, and then he keeps interrupting the judge and raising his voice in the demand and the judge informs he that if he wants this duplicitious work, he'll have to pay for it, the guy doesn't have a right to complain later about how the judge made him pay for it.

That is just one of the types of stupid things that go on in these courts and people later bitch about it.

You'd never get an honest assessment out of this type of person........and I will even proffer that it would be doubly bad if the man was a woman! No oone has a lock on being stupid or irrational or unable to make a fair judgement of what has occurred.

They aren't working on guilty or innocent; they are attempting to arbitrate between mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, who can't get over their anger, generally, and 'get evenness', to equally divide or make arrangements for the rearing of their kids without the kids getting the short shrift.

Judges violate, ignore, trample and shit on the CON-stitution daily. There are a million examples of this behavior, such as ordering one spouse to pay the other's attorney fees, which absolutely violates equal protection under the law.

I don't intend to get into a dialogue concerning Family Court Judges or Family Court "policies" ... but when you consider a Judge ordering people to a counselor or therapist [the rapist] that tells the nice folks everything is confidential, and then is ordered by the Judge to divulge the info ... the 5th Amendment has been circumvented ...

There are a myriad of causes for divorce ... Judges and lawyers do nothing to rectify the situation in a civil manner, they inflame it. "They" are simply there to be certain that the State and the Attorneys get their cut first !

Christine's point "when have you ever seen them change the law to benefit the people" is right on. There may have been a time when this country enjoyed relevant fairness, but that time has passed. Writing the congress or the state legislators is pissing in the wind.

I have to agree with Jethro Tull and Indie TX ... kill em all and let God sort em out !

First let me say that the Family Courts are an abomination. They see too many cases and become callous. They play favorites with attorneys, and suck whatever equity existed in a family out of it through $250.00 per hour attorneys that drag things out for as long as the couple can be made angry.

Judges are simply lawyers with total immunity. They are not held accountable for their treachery ... and should be.

This one unfortunate judge may serve as an example to the rest. There's no such thing as a good Judge when they all know the score and keep their mouths shut.

Chrissie.......I will not condone taking the 'law' like this into our own hands!

We the people are the government / law. Our collective apathy has led to this totalitarian police state, complete with sanctimonious phoney judges and lawyers.

Many people that work within this system are ignorant of the law or others rights, they simply do what they're told to do. There are others in this system that don't give a shit about the law or our rights, they're in it for a profit.

The Family Courts have winners and losers ... generally the family loses and the lawyers win. The system is run like a drive through at McDonalds, kaching ... kaching.

Rowdee, let me say that millions of people die every day, some are murdered justifiably, and others are innocent. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people have been murdered that were absolutely innocent of any crime at all. Had a few congress creeps the balls to stop the dictator this wouldn't be happening at all.

I don't see any reason to become overly alarmed at this judge's shooting.

Do you think there might be a closer adherence to their Constitutional Oath of Office if 50 Senators were reduced to worm food ?

There is something in the air, and it stinks...of death.

Well I think you should get used to it. Americans have been living in a false state of security for 150 years, that the American Government has made sure no one else enjoys. This false state of security is rapidly degenerating into a full blown police state, complete with S.W.A.T. / Hostage Rescue / Internal C.I.A. / Homeland Security Troops / FEMA etc.,

You're right about the stench, death is on our door step. However, the death squads will be provided by you, at your taxpayer expense, through your tithes to government by your taxpayer supported government drones.

I have finally realized that everyone doesn't come to the same conclusions at the same time. Patience is necessary on the part of those with knowledge and study is necessary for those without it.

Most of us grew up believing that the U.S. was always the good guy. The historical record proves this is untrue. Many just refuse to study the facts because they don't want to be exposed to this truth because it would demand they respond in an appropriate manner. Usually, we have to be personally attacked before we wake up to the tyranny of our own government.

That's not the worst of it. The force of arms used to humble the world at large is being aimed within now. The American people have become the latest target of the U.S. Govt. ... and the truly regrettable thing about this situation is that Americans will be abusing / incarcerating and killing Americans ... for a paycheck.

Was this judge corrupt? Or, was he applying the law?

If he was applying the law, then this is murder.

Efforts should have been directed toward changing the law.

Applying the law of averages to this Judge ... he was corrupt.

This was murder irrespective of the Judges decisions. It may have been justifiable homicide as opposed to murder 1 ... (assuming the Judge died).

Much effort by many people has been made towards restoring justice in this country. These efforts are ignored for the most part by the system, which twists and perverts the intent of the laws for its own purposes.

Writing letters to congress, or letters to Judges, or letters to the editor are useless wastes of time and paper. Protests are being stifled and people are being oppressed. Sooner or later the inability to obtain any semblance of justice will produce bloodshed. Maybe this shooting "is" the necessary "effort" !

I don't believe that anyone other than the shooter and the Judge know exactly what brought this about, at this time.

That's exactly why the Founding Fathers put the Second Amendment in the Constitution.

The judge got what he had coming.

"The killing of non combatants during peace time is murder."___Jeff Cooper

If you wish to declare war then proceed, fine. But, sniping some low level govt functionary is not the act of an honorable warrior or constitutional revolutionary.

It is no different than when a bunch of thugs "equalize" things by murdering someone for a Rolex, all the while telling themselves that they are "victims" of a "racist system."

This type of self serving rationale will always be there to "justify" good old fashioned greed.

I happen to own a tack driving .30 06 rifle, too, But I'm not going to use it against the first govt lackey who tells me no. There are people out there who would shoot me for less, and, feel justified in doing so. I'm not going to sign off on that.

This is an admirable opinion, yet seems to ignore the fact that the average American is under attack by his/her own govt. that has thusfar failed to "DECLARE" war, opting instead to use taxpayer dollars to build a police state complete with crooked, luciferian, judges to implement their stealth attacks.

There shouldn't be any doubt that Americans today are under a vicious attack by their own government upon their liberty, their property and even their religious freedom.

Guerilla Warfare could easily become the only feasible option left when the enemy is as large as the police/military complex of the U.S. Whether or not any type of warfare is truly honorable can be debated.

This particular instance concerning the Reno Judge may not even qualify because it appears that the subject of investigation may be simply addressing personal grievances.

While America is being looted into bankruptcy by the elected leadership, Americans are happy to pay their tribute to its continuation and their own further oppression. Un-fucking-believable !

Your thoughts are duly noted.

Would you please read them again and tell me if you still believe that you've sufficiently documented a case to justify premeditated, cold blooded murder?
