POLAHA SAID WELLER HAD BEEN SHOT IN THE CHEST WHILE ON THE THIRD FLOOR OF THE COURTHOUSE. THE SHOT IS BELIEVED TO HAVE COME FROM OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. "A JUDGE WAS APPARENTLY SHOT..."

Is that illegal, now?

whoever did it is gloating quietly to themselves over it now I bet. It was a well planned and successful hit I bet. and he got away. I bet the gun he used can't be traced and now he'll dispose of it.

A random gunshot hitting inside the third floor of courthouse building? Yeah sure, and a red sleigh pulled by eight flying reindeer was spotted in the vicinity at about the same time.

Judge Chuck Weller is 53 years old. He has practiced law for nearly thirty years, much of that in family law. He has previously hosted a local law-related radio show, and wrote a column for a Reno paper about the law.

Judge Weller ran, and won, against Elizabeth Cannon-Lynch, Pete Sferrazza, and Myra Sheehan in the 2004 elections for the judges seat.

Judge Weller once led opposition to a county bond issue to build a new county courthouse.

He graduated from Georgetown Law School in 1978.

Another report:

'Sniper' shoots US judge at court

A judge has been shot in the US state of Nevada, sparking a police hunt for a possible sniper. Family court judge Chuck Weller was standing near a window of the Washoe County court house in Reno when he was injured by a single shot.

There was no initial word if he was shot from inside or outside the court.

Mr Weller was rushed to hospital while police began a search of the area around the court, which is situated on the edge of Reno's casino district.

A police spokesman said Mr Weller was conscious at hospital and was speaking to his family.

A special operations SWAT team was sent to the area as police closed six blocks surrounding the court building to search for the attacker.

Mr Weller, 53, was elected to the judiciary in 2004 and previously offered legal advice on a local radio station and in a local newspaper, the Associated Press reports.

Was this judge corrupt? Or, was he applying the law?

If he was corrupt, then there are other ways to remove him from office. Where those ways unsuccessful? If so, then the fault lies in the process and efforts should be focused on changing the process.

If he was applying the law, then this is murder. Efforts should have been directed toward changing the law. Perhaps an arguement could be made that those that passed the law were "fair game." Even then, efforts should have been directed toward changing the law.

I'm hard pressed to justify murder.

Seriously, this guy must've really pissed someone off...i.e. totally destroyed their life. Family court. Must've removed an innocent man's children from him I'll guess....When TheSystem is corrupt, and people have NO WAY to remove oficials because TheSystem is RIGGED..judges who make immoral rulings which destroy innocent lives are indeed targets for the person whose life they ruined.

I believe a Founder stated something to the effect that when people no longer are allowed a peaceful means to make change, bad things will happen.

IMO, it IS too late to make change w/in TheSystem. There are enough "nutcases" out there that will seek other means instead of wait it out.

Oh my yes. I worked in family court. These political hacks follow no law that I know of. They're two bit tyrants who wouldn’t know justice if they tripped over it. I agree. The American people have been too docile for too long. Since we’re only about one spin from completely sliding the crapper, I have no problem with some street justice.

...I have no problem with some street justice.

Who passed the law?

If there is injustice, then the people must act upon it.

If you think that "street justice" is the only way to deal with this, then we, the people, are in anarchy.

If that is the case, then the Constitution doesn't matter to you, and you, in my opinion, don't uphold it.

When will it be time for open warfare? I don't know. But this BS that you are pushing, ie, "street justice," doesn't seem to me consistent with supporting the US Constitution.

So, what should I conclude? You're a "plant?" You're "excited?"

I don't know. But I do know that your "way" isn't the "way."

The Constitution??? Shrub said it's a goddamned piece of paper. Judges, the POTUS and the Congress prove it everyday. It is dead. The only way to revive it according to Jefferson is with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Give that speech to Jefferson's ghost. The System is rigged and change can NOT be brought about within it.
