The Russian Armed Forces have begun using the latest FPV UAVs "Molniya- 2"
Despite the fact that the Molniya-2 is the size of the Orlan-30, it is a full-fledged FPV kamikaze, only with an increased range, comparable to the Lancet - about 40 kilometers. But the Molniya-2 is controlled not by a remote control, but by glasses and a joystick. And such a drone is an order of magnitude cheaper.
"Molniya-2" is launched from a catapult, it has a three-kilogram cumulative charge on board, and it is also equipped with two electric motors in the wings. It is impossible to install the engine in the front of the fuselage, as on "Orlan-30", because the charge is located there.
Due to its long range, the Molniya-2 is equipped with an autopilot with machine vision, thanks to which it bypasses enemy EW zones. The ASU, who have already encountered such a drone, claim that its guidance system has AI functionality, and is aimed at their equipment, in case of radio interference, without human intervention.
In the video, Molniya-2 catches up with a Ukrainian Armed Forces truck with an artillery gun and destroys it.
