During the Vietnam War John McCain joined almost 600 other Americans who became prisoners of war. McCain would sustain severe permanent injuries as a result and spend over 5 years in captivity. But after he entered politics, the knives came out, mostly from Democrats, but also from some Republicans. Accusations later arose accusing John McCain of committing treason while a prisoner of war, and other allegations of misconduct while in political office. Much of this resurfaced after his death from brain cancer in 2018, but what is true, and what is false?

When Obama and McCain ran for POTUS in 2008, my sister in Chicago told me she had voted Democrat her whole life but could not vote for Obama, so she voted for McCain.
I told her, "You still voted for evil since BOTH candidates were members of the Council on Foreign Relations and that made BOTH candidates internationalists.
Ron Paul was on the ballot in Missouri. I voted for him since he was the best candidate, and my vote was not wasted.
