Worse, what happens when any bars found get drilled see how deep the gold goes in any given bar.
I would weigh thr bars. If we are sure of the volume in metric, we can multiply by specific gravity to get the weight.
That is ignorant. It will not work. Mix a bit of Platinum with Tungsten, both are much cheaper than gold, and the specific gravity is identical to gold. Then coat it with a thin layer of gold and your test will prove it is a bar of pure gold.
When was the last time you checked the price of Platinum?
Spainards tossed tons of it in slag piles refining gold and silver.
Do you want us to go back and check those slag heaps and get the Platinum out of them? ;)
