Two patients, who recently traveled from Madagascar and Uganda respectively, exhibited symptoms possibly indicative of Ebola at a Manhattan CityMD Urgent Care Center. They were transported by FDNY in hazmat suits to Bellevue Hospital for further testing and isolation. As of now, their diagnosis remains unconfirmed, with ongoing investigations at the urgent care facility, which is currently on lockdown.

Urgent Care

One day on construction crew on Illinois State Highways, I was luting an asphalt patch in the right lane on Milwaukee Ave at Dundee Rd. I was standing on the lane line and pulling the lute back and up to keep it out of traffic.

A van went by and hit my right hand with its passenger mirror. The impact spun me around and nearly ripped the leather glove off my hand. It left a bump on the back of my hand and the ambulance transported me to an Urgent Care facility a few blocks away where they took Xrays to make sure there were no broken bones. Luckily there were not.

But this just goes to show how dangerous it was working that job literally inches from certain death. ;)
