Senator Ed Markey (D-Mass.) is facing scrutiny after making a speech in Boston, where he called for a “revolution” against President Donald Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Speaking outside in the snow, Markey invoked historical revolutions while rallying a crowd against what he described as the threat of authoritarianism.
During his speech, Markey referenced Massachusetts’ history of revolutions, tying his call to action to past movements such as the American Revolution, abolitionism, and the suffragette movement.
“Massachusetts is where revolutions are born,” Markey began. “And the revolution against Donald Trump and Elon Musk starts here.”
