Stanley Jung, a high school graduate with a 4.4 GPA and a 1590 SAT score, who was employed by Google as a PhD-level software engineer, has filed a lawsuit against the University of California system. The lawsuit alleges racial discrimination in the admissions process despite his notable academic and professional achievements. The suit claims that although race and ethnicity data are collected for 'statistical purposes' by UC applications, these might still influence admission decisions, leading to Jung's rejection from several UC campuses.
