MSNBC legal analyst Danny Cevallos pushed back against media narratives suggesting that President Donald Trump is facing devastating legal defeats over his executive orders.
During a recent panel discussion, Cevallos argued that headlines framing the legal battles as major losses for Trump are misleading and could set up his critics for disappointment when rulings eventually go in Trump’s favor.
“Over the weekend, I read all these headlines and the headlines were like, Trump suffers legal blows,” Cevallos said. “Another one was, Trump hit with unexpected loss.”
However, he cautioned that the portrayal of these court decisions as significant setbacks misrepresents what is actually happening in the legal process.
Many of the rulings being described as defeats, he explained, are procedural pauses rather than substantive decisions.
