When we were kids in grade school in Chicago, Father O'Hara wanted us all to be altar boys. I didn't want that so I had to take some heat.

But I had an ace in the hole. I played the organ for mass in the chapel for two masses every Sunday. It paid $5 each time I played.

One time they needed and organist to play for a wedding in the church. I got to play the pipe organ and that gig paid $50. ;)
