This is an informative interview. But he was clearly duped by the Israelis. He said nothing that happened before October 7th could justify what happened that day. That is very much not tue. On Oct 7th, the Israeli fired 2 tank shells into every home with Hamas soldiers and hostages. Israeli helicopters fired 11,000 missiles at anything that moved.
Witkoff actually thinks Israel destroyed Iran's defenses in their attack. That is nonsense. Russia had upgraded them to the S-400 with elements of the S-500. They have the SU-35 and with its R-37 air to air missile. Iran can make R-37 missiles and fire them from older jets.
The F-16 Phoenix missile system has a range of 50 miles. The R-37 has a version with 248 mile (400 Km) range. When the Israelis attacked, Iranian radar locked onto their supposedly stealthy F-35s so they disengaged and went home cutting their attack short.
If the US attacked Iran, the Iranians would destroy all US bases outside of Turkey. Gasoline would hit $10 a gallon, the dollar would collapse and the purchasing power of US paychecks and pensions would be permanently cut 60%.
They mentioned the Witkoff's son who died. Their 22-year-old son Andrew died of an OxyContin overdose at the now-closed Sunset Plaza Drive sober living facility in California. They have 2 older sons still living.
