Salt is Sodium Chloride (NaCl). Not sure how to split that up, but Chlorine gas is poisonous. I remember making Sulphur Dioxide gas in chemistry lab. You had to do it in a ventilator since the gas would turn into Sulphuric Acid in your lungs. The prevailing winds were from the west and the Lakeview Air Quality station was east. They had the highest reading for Sulphur Dioxide on that particular day. ;)
