Seven Northeast Indian States

Northeast India is officially known as the North Eastern Region (NER) and comprises eight states, including seven contiguous states often referred to as the "Seven Sisters." These states are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. Sikkim, known as the "brother" state, was later included in the North Eastern Region.

Arunachal Pradesh: Located in the northeastern tip of India, claimed by China as South Tibet.

Assam: Known for its rich cultural heritage and diverse ethnic groups. Manipur: Famous for its rich ethnic culture and prevalence of Tibeto- Burman languages.

Meghalaya: Known for its Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo hills, became a state in 1971.

Mizoram: Known for its unique tribal culture and the Phawngpui peak.

Nagaland: Known for its Naga Hills and Mount Saramati, the highest peak in the region.

Tripura: Known for its Jampui Hills and Betlingchhip peak.

Sikkim: Although not one of the Seven Sisters, it is often included in the North Eastern Region.

These people are not etnically Indian. Some tribal and can only speak in english to their neighbors. One state is Nepalese but are Hindus. No love for Indian here.
