David Mamet, the playwright who wrote classics such as Glengarry Glen Ross and American Buffalo, is a fascinating character. He was a lifelong Democrat but at some point in the early 2000s during the George W. Bush presidency, he had a red-pill moment and became a conservative. He has been very supportive of President Trump and Republicans to this day.
Mamet appeared on the Jesse Watters show tonight and used a shocking yet effective analogy to explain where Democrats are as a party today.
In the clip below, Mamet says:
Everything in the Democrats playbook is denial, which takes all of a persons mental energy.
Its no different than a dysfunctional family. If you have a family, and dad is a pedophile, the problem for everyone in the family is that they have to deny that dad is a pedophile because if they face it, the family as they know it, is going to fall apart and they dont know what comes next.
Thats horrific. Its legitimate but its horrific. Thats where the Democrats are now.

He is Jewish. His paternal grandparents were Polish Jews. Mamet has said his parents were communists and described himself as a "red diaper baby". He was born into socialism, moved on to Democrat and from there to Republican.
