The history of charcoal briquettes is interesting. You'll never guess who invented them.
It's too hot up here to do much outside so we've been taking it easy watching cooking videos looking for food ideas to cook for us.
I almost kicked Kim out of here at zero dark thirty this morning thinking it was Monday. We don't get two whole days together very often.

The most terrifying force of death comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. TRUE TERROR will arrive at these peoples door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the Men who just wanted to be left alone.

I should've said, who made mass production practical.

It took us awhile to figure out what this is (was) about.
I didn't participate.

When I drove Hot Shot out of Chicago in the late 90's, I picked up this guy at a truck stop in Tennessee. He got burned out of his house and only had the clothes on his back.
I stopped at a BBQ and bought him a meal and exra corn bread.
He had family in south suburban Chicago. I dropped him at the Toll Road Oasis on far south side.
About a month later he sent me $10 in the mail. He wrote, "I didn't forget what you did for me."
He was a nice guy. ;)

I've had nightmares about CTA stations, but that's my problem. :)
I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I dont care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits. - William S Burroughs
