Now I'm pushing my luck...

Last time I ran my washing machine (Maytag Neptune Super Stack) the drain pump was acting like it's going bad again (I replaced it about a year ago, I think. It was pricey ~$75). It was leaving the clothes sopping wet. I'm hoping it was just a glitch. It's a real PITA to get that sumbitch out far enough to get access to the back.

If I don't get back within an hour, SEND HELP!

(Edit) And I didn't get Kimmy flowers at Kroger when I was there today. They didn't look good.

At seven PM, a main hatchway caved in, he said, "Fellas it's been good to know ya"

I can't find ANYTHING worth posting, so I'll blather on endlessly about my recent battles with the machines.

The washing machine left the clothes wet again today. Resetting the dial for the third rinse/spin and rerunning it cleared up the problem, THIS TIME.

I replaced the drain pump two and a half years ago, not one year like I thought. Notes: When I replaced the electric pump last time, I could hear the new one running, a buzz/hum. I don't recall ever hearing it before, I wonder if that was a sign it was bad/defective from the git. There's a new trick this time. When I shut the door with the dial in the off/cycle finished position, the door relocks, not normal.

History: The machine was built in Oct1999. Somewhere between then and now a drum bearing seal leaked, destroying the bearing/s. It sounded like a 747 landing in the spin mode. I dragged the thing out to the garage and rebuilt it which was kind of a big deal. At the time I found a service bulletin recommending to replace the wax motor door lock with a revised type to prevent damaging the electronic circuit board. So I did that too.

Fast forward to Jan2023 and the first pump problem when I replaced it. I can't hear the 'new noisy' pump anymore and listening to the water when it's draining into the standpipe sounds weak. I know a new part going bad that fast is remote, but it happens. I think my best and cheapest play might be to get another pump and start there. If it doesn't fix it, start looking for a new stack unit. I don't really wanna do that and I don't want to move in with Kimmy. I'm planning on giving this joint to my neighbor's son when I die, hopefully when he's done with school and his stint in the Navy. I built this joint when I was in college, he should be able to rebuild it while he's getting his degree. Him and his dad will have plenty of money then.

I already wrote about the exploding kitchen faucet earlier this week. I still give that thing the side-eye every time I go in the kitchen now.

Last week I went down in the dungeon to see why the humidity went up by about 7 points. The water heater inlet flex pipe was leaking a little bit. I was able to tighten the fittings and I think its stopped. I'm afraid to recheck it. You know what they say about 'looking for trouble'.

I think I deserve a drink. Maybe I'll piddle around in the kitchen and get some stuff ready for my date this weekend and do a little cleaning. Maybe not.

My microwave turntable starts spinning any time the interior light illuminates, so just opening the door the turntable spins closing the door it stops. As far as the washer goes the Un counterweightedness of the unit sucks damned suspension rods last about six months, less if my wife does all the bath towels in the house in one load. Saw one tube video of using liquid nails to rebuild them, have not seen the promised after action report to see if it's a waste of good subfloor glue.
