A retired Navy commander and local outspoken tax protestor was sentenced to seven years in prison Thursday for a crime that Senior U.S. District Judge Lacey Collier said “goes directly to the heart of the existence of our country.”

Dr. Ward Dean, 63, of Pensacola also was ordered to pay nearly $300,000 in taxes that were assessed on the $1.3 million income he earned between 1997 and 2002 but never paid.

“If we have no one complying with the accepted and long-established tax code, we would have anarchy and we would have no country,” Collier said in imposing the sentence, which was more than double the sentencing guidelines’ maximum imprisonment of nearly 3 1/2 years.

Dean, a retired Navy flight surgeon, was convicted in December of six counts of tax evasion and one count of attempting to obstruct the Internal Revenue Service in the collection of taxes.

This f**king witch must know very little about the Founding of our country. We've had "a country" [void of anarchy..lol] long before her "tax code" was established.

Why do you think women quite correctly have always been denied the vote in the past?

"Benjamin Franklin was shown the new American constitution, and he said, 'I don't like it, but I will vote for it because we need something right now. But this constitution in time will fail, as all such efforts do. And it will fail because of the corruption of the people, in a general sense.' And that is what it has come to now, exactly as Franklin predicted." -- Gore Vidal

Most women have only a moderate relationship with rationality, can only take the short-term view, and seem to think the world can be rid of all danger and be made all safe 'n' snug.

They shouldn't be allowed to vote, they shouldn't be allowed near SUVs and cellphones, and they sure as hell shouldn't be judges.

At my neighborhood Walgreen's drug dealer today, I stopped by the passport section of the store: I asked the guys there if there was an uptick in passport photos - "God, yes! We're swamped with people either renewing or getting passports."

What does it mean?

I don't know: maybe we boomers are just traveling out of country more, or maybe, folks are waking up.

The latter, I hope and pray.

My take is that sufferage should be limited to any, but only, one group - blacks, browns, whites, men, women, transgenders, indians, alto- castratos...anyone, for crying out loud - but just one group.

The suggestion has been made in the past that voting be limited to those who pay property taxes...even though I would lose my right to vote under such a provision; I would be comfortable with that.

So, the existence of our country, is solely to collect taxes on the backs of the laboring citizens of this nation?

This doesn't go to the heart of our nation, not one bit. I think if she were to look at her words and see how ridiculous it sounds, she might change her tune.

If our nation were developed with the express sole purpose of generating revenue for the world bank, the IMF, and any and all banking institutions, I sincerely doubt a revolution would have been fought for it.

We dumped a shipload of tea into the Boston harbor for a 1 percent tax on it. I hardly think that our nation was founded as a system of laws directed at stealing the wealth of its citizenry.

What's that Mr. Nipples? You want me to ask the nice lady about her rack?.

ELECTION 2000, Day 33 Judge orders Florida's military votes counted Ruling: 'All federal write-in ballots rejected for the above stated reasons are declared valid'

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: December 9, 2000 1:00 a.m. Eastern

By Jon E. Dougherty © 2000 http://WorldNetDaily.com

In a victory for Republican George W. Bush, a U.S. district judge yesterday ordered all Florida counties to reexamine discarded military absentee ballots and to count them in final vote totals if they were properly signed and dated.

The Bush campaign had sued five Florida counties for discarding the ballots initially because they did not have a postmark when they arrived.

However, U.S. District Judge Lacey Collier, in a 28-page ruling issued Friday, ordered the canvassing boards in those counties to accept some absentee ballots that were previously rejected by local elections officials.

Here, Let me rebutt this too.

For one, the tax code changes more often than I change my underwear. The tax code that was instated at the inception of this country is nothing like it is today. There are over a Million pages in the tax code, and not one lawyer in this great land can show you the law that says ANYONE has to file a tax return.

If people did not pay their taxes, what would happen? Well I can tell you that a lot of things would change. For one, the welfare system would be non-existent, because those people would either get a job, or die off. There would be no bureacracy, or feeding trough for senators, and congressmen to use as their own private piggy banks. We also would have things like accountability because every dollar spent would have to be scrutinized as opposed to the rampant overspending by bureacracies everywhere.

Members of our government couldn't arbitrarily vote themselves pay increases at the public's expense. Not only that, they'd have to get jobs to support themselves, which to me would be a positive change.

Oh sure, a lot of people would lose out on the deal, but so many more would win. Imagine having the ability to save for retirement, and invest on your own. Imagine being able to keep that wealth you pay to the powers that be. We could generate 3 times the revenue from a consumption tax than actual income tax RIGHT NOW.

You could scrap the tax code across the board, institute a 1 percent tax on ALL financial transactions through your banks, or through point of purchase, and EVERY BILL WOULD BE PAID IN THIS COUNTRY WITHIN 5 YEARS.

How do I know this? Because I actually think of ways to save my government money. I think of ways to save MYSELF money. I think of ways to fix the problems in my country and help America get back on track to being a free country, one where people can be self-reliant and self-sufficient.

If you charged a penny on EVERY SINGLE TRANSACTION, ON EVERY DOLLAR SPENT, the revenue generated would be staggering. Imagine tapping Microsoft's monetary transactions for a penny on the dollar. Imagine tapping GE's monetary transactions for a penny on the dollar. Imagine tapping GM's monetary transactions for a penny on the dollar. IMAGINE TAPPING EXXON, SHELL, BP, CONOCO PHILLIPS FOR A PENNY ON EVERY DOLLAR.

There would BE NO FUCKING DEFICIT IN THIS COUNTRY WITHIN 5 Years, and put a bunch of goons out of work overnight. You could do away with not only the bureaucrats, you could also free up a lot of space in prisons so you can put REAL criminals away.

I love my country, but the lack of common sense in leadership is astounding. The Judiciary Branch is clearly out of control, and this judge proves my point.

I want to save my country. I want to fix things in my country. I want to be free in my country, and the best way to be free, is if America can get out of debt. Tax EVERYONE THE SAME. One cent on every dollar spent in this economy, and within 5 years, EVERY DEBT WOULD BE ELIMINATED.

What's that Mr. Nipples? You want me to ask the nice lady about her rack?.

From Itsalmosttoolate's link...The Talmud. The Greeks/Romans are sub-human, we bring enlightenment...

Collier said that now lawyers will need to continue using law as an effective control to terror. "The practice of law is a centuries old discipline," he said. "It is essential to civilization as an instrument of justice. Through the practice of law, you can use your sense of logic to solve disputes, offer a voice to the mutant, and find resolution in the face of chaos. As graduating students, about to enter the world of lawyering, you've inherited a dilapidated canvas that has potential for being a great masterpiece."

The judge went on to say that "Congress has become active in the aftermath of September 11. He said they have changed laws that you will be called upon to defend. You will be applying these laws, as well, and how you do that will be a reflection of our system of law. You and the entire law community will be the looking glass through which people judge the justice system," Collier continued.

“Yes, but is this good for Jews?"

The stupid bitch should get the IRS to follow the law in the first place and we would not have the mess we do today.

I don't mind paying taxes, and I don't see anyway around them, but there is a diferenece between a total tax load of 3% (which is what it should be) and about 50%, which is what most people pay.

I heard an advisement on the radio yesterday from a lawyer who deals with people who can't pay their taxes and so haven't filed returns for years. It reminded of a guy I met who couldn't pay his taxes, so he just quit filing. The IRS caught him after 15 years, and settled for $700. After all, the guy had absolutely nothing. What were they going to do? Put him inm prison, which costs, what? $20,000 a year.

Apparently there are a lot of people who can no longer pay their taxes. How can anyone, when the tax burden is so crushing?
