Dobson and Falwell: The Leaders of the Religious Right

By: John Amato @

6:30 PM - PDT

I’ve talked about both these men at length. Arthur has two posts that explain a lot about how they behave today, It’s very interesting that they have so much influence over the Republican party. Does it all into the authoritarian mode that John Dean has written about?

Arthur:

For Dobson, there is no difference at all between dachshunds and children. They are both to be beaten with belts as necessary, they are both to be crushed using whatever means are required no matter how brutal and monstrous, and they are both to be made to obey above all…read on

Arthur:

There were times that Dad’s pranks bordered on cruelty. One of his oil-company workers, a one-legged man he nicknamed "Crip" Smith, complained about everything. Dad and Crip’s co-workers got tired of the old man’s bellyaching and decided to take revenge. I haven't a clue as to who this "Arthur" person is, but I find a whole lot of what he writes is bullshit. Leave it to him and this alice miller person to determine everyone else's being, belief system, etc.

A whole lot of the meanness, etc., occuring in this day and age IMO is the result of shrinks and much of their outlandish ideas/thoughts.

Thanks, but no thanks.......our country is already too full of the 'me, me, me' crowd....self-centered creatures.

No, parenting is not perfect...I concur......but I sure as hell do not want the nanny state telling parents who, what, when, where, and how they are to handle the upbringing of their children.

No, Hilary......it doesn't take a village.......it takes involved parents!
