Title: 4um's "Original" Skin Modified

The "Original" skin for 4um, in place since 4um first went live, has been modified.

The purpose of the modification was to bring the old look in line with the revised art/style instituted with the very sophisticated "brushed" look, and I think we've succeeded. However, we also hope that the changes preserve the advantage of the original skin in being useful for those who might have a screen resolution smaller than 1024x768, or who otherwise prefer not to have the browser window fill their entire computer screen. With the original skin, you can shrink the width of the browser window without having the dreaded left/right scroll bar appear at the bottom.

Feedback is welcome. Thank you. Subscribe to *4um Admin News*

Well the left/right scroll problem is eliminated, that's kewl. And I appreciate the black-on-white text contrast :)

But...

Under IE most of the text fonts don't resize, except for the lines:

"Member Subscription Setup"
and
"Please report web page problems, questions and comments to webmaster2@freedom4um.com"

which suggest to me that all the fonts can be resizable if they were to be specified in the same technique as the above two lines.

As a matter of personal preference, I find the default font size too large, (seems 50-75% larger than the real original font) and everything appears bold. Let me know if you'd like to see an image of how it appears to me.

Can you knock the default font size down a peg (or maybe two until they aren't bold) and make them all resizeable?

(yeah, I know, $!@#*&&$!@# users - they're never happy)

Those lines on the new skin are not sized with css styles, but by straight HTML, so those need to be brought up to speed. (Thanks for the catch).

My linux firefox does change css font sizes with the "increase text size" command. Maybe MSIE isn't so accommodating.

You haven't indicated what the goal is with fonts and sizes, so I'm not sure whether you're working on this or are done.

In general I see no reason text fonts/sizes under the "original" skin should be any different than under the Brushed skins.

The Brushed fonts/sizes are much more readable. Again I offer to post images of the two formats if that will help you to visualize the problem.

When we worked on the fonts on the phone, we made them to be the same as the Brushed. That was my goal. I don't understand where/why they're looking different to you as on my computers they look very close or the same. Hopefully, you and Neil can figure it out. ;)

I will post images of the differences I see, and we'll go from there. :)
