Title: A few questions for the long-time posters

I was recently digging into the history of the LP startup and I was just curious about some miscellaneous questions, if anybody cares to answer one or more: --

I notice most of you other guys' tag lines are in tiny letters. Does that effect require a special program?

What does TOS mean?

Who started FreedomUnderground?

What poster runs LibertyFlame? Why does it always seem so empty?

Is LibertyForum of the same ilk as LP,F4,FU, and LF?

Are there any other major forums beside the ones mentioned above(besides FR)?

Ann Coulter mentioned Free Republic on TV the other day, and according to an internet traffic-tracking site, Liberty Post has been gaining ground on "CensorCentral"(FR). I guess that means that 4um will eventually be flooded with lunatics and the special interests will try to buy over Ch + Zipp. It's weird how the popularity of these things are rising and gaining a lot of people's attention.

I think this forum has been infiltrated at times by agenda driven zio-nazis, however they have been exposed for the shills they are.

The longtime posters here seem to be able to sort the scumbags out through honest debate.

Ch and Zipp cannot be bought because ... they're priceless !

In a June, 1992 exclusive and published interview granted by President George H. W. Bush to Sarah McClendon, the grand dame of the White House press corps at the time, McClendon said: "George Bush, what will the people do if they ever find out the truth about Iraq-gate and Iran contra?

George Bush replied: 'Sarah, if the American people ever find out what we have done, they will chase us down the streets and lynch us.' "

It won't be long before Americans learn that Bush was intimately involved in the Nov. 22, 1963 coup that forever changed America into Fascist Amerika !

Good questions. What are the URLs of those sites you mentioned? Some are unfamiliar to me. I too am interested to know the details of how these sites came to be, and how they are related to each other.

What does TOS mean?

TOS = Terms of service, all the answers to your other questions are also in the manual.

You did read the manual, didn't you?

I'm not ready to make nice

Use the font tag:

your tagline

Replace the [ and ] with < and >

What does TOS mean?

Terms Of Service - read the manual :)

We use it to mean The Other Site. FR=TOS1, LP=TOS2

Quit bogarting that peace, Herbert!

Yep, and we here at 4um are TOS4. FU is TOS3. I've been at all of them, and I only lasted 20 minutes at FR. ;0)

Thanks Dak -- I suspected that but wasn't sure. I also thought maybe it was initials for some site I hadn't heard of.

I notice most of you other guys' tag lines are in tiny letters. Does that effect require a special program? No go to set-up and you'll see where you can add a tagline. There you can use html to determine the size of the font for your tagline such as < font size=2 > (without the spaces) before the tagline and after the tagline close it with < /font size >

What does TOS mean?

Who started FreedomUnderground? I can't speak for Bret

What poster runs LibertyFlame? Why does it always seem so empty? The person who owns Liberty Flame was a poster here but no longer. I suppose the reason is that it's a matter of people's choice which forum appeals to them or not..

Is LibertyForum of the same ilk as LP,F4,FU, and LF? Somewhat..

Are there any other major forums beside the ones mentioned above(besides FR)? There are some on the left side such as Daily Kos

RE Liberty Post.. IMO it's the FR annex.. controlled dissent.. but now the purge has begun at LP as well.. lots of professional posters there.

As far as 4 is concerned.. 4 is a free speech forum .. but two things of the things dont tolerate are #1 paid shills #2 is of course anything illegal or threatening.. other than that we're pretty much hands off..

Thanks Zipporah, I appreciate it. I was curious about FU because I was reading some old posts of Christine's on there from about 3 years ago and her conversation with the other posters was describing a situation emerging on LP which was much the same as the current one. Guess some things never change.

I've never bothered with Daily Kos -- my understanding is that it's the liberal's version of FR.

I guess what got me interested in the whole background thing was Neil posting on here and when I found out who he was. I saw people dis him like he was trash on LP and they didn't have a clue that he was responsible for the code they were badmouthing him on. Sort of funny in a way I guess. When I saw pinguinite advertisement I thought, how cool is that, that the guy that designed both LP and F4 posts here regularly. I figured the designer would be a bunch of techy schmucks working for a multinational company overseas or something.

The 4 in 4um is because this was about the 4th 4um for many. But it works as shorthand too.

FR -> LP -> FU -> 4

The owner of FU is unamused. His son downkaos is why we left FU, long story.

chris and Zip are very firm about not allowing trolls disrupt this 4um. They entertain one or two from time to time, when we are bored.

This 4um welcomes good debate, and indeed, we are not all in agreement on everything.

Unlike most other forums, criticism of Israel is allowed.

There are a lot of libertarians and former GOPers here.

"If there’s another 9/11 or a major war in the Middle-East involving a U.S. attack on Iran, I have no doubt that there will be, the day after or within days an equivalent of a Reichstag fire decree that will involve massive detentions in this country."

FreedomUnderground was my idea. When the Iraq war began we were all posting on LP. The war caused much dissention between those who supported it and those who were against it. I asked unamused to create FU for us non statists and anti-war folks. A core group of us, paleoconservatives and libertarians, selected the name and designed it together. It was TOS3. Then as Robin explained, we had a falling out because of unamused's son (you can read the short version from our perspective) here. That falling out is the reason Zipporah and I created this site which is TOS4, hence the #4 in Freedom4um.

chris and Zip are very firm about not allowing trolls disrupt this 4um. They entertain one or two from time to time, when we are bored.

But they do allow for dissenting viewpoints as long as you are cordial and just argue the facts. I disagree with a lot of posters on this forum about some topics, but on other topics I agree with them.

I notice most of you other guys' tag lines are in tiny letters. Does that effect require a special program?

No, you just use HTML tags like this: < Font Size="1">Your tag line goes here< /Font> For different font size, just change the number.

What does TOS mean?

The Other Site. At LP it meant FR.

Who started FreedomUnderground?

Brett, also known as unamused on LP, and I assume FR as well.

What poster runs LibertyFlame? Why does it always seem so empty? A K A Stone. It's always seems empty becasue it mostly is. It also is brand new forum.

Is LibertyForum of the same ilk as LP,F4,FU, and LF? No. Liberty Forum was started slightly before LP by John Dere, a staunch Libertarian. Liberty Forum at one time was a huge forum, even giving FR a run for it's money. However since Dere mysterioulsy dissaperaed and with their many software problems it has been declining rapidly this year.

Are there any other major forums beside the ones mentioned above(besides FR)?

Yep. As far as I know the biggest forum offshoot from FR is Lucianne's site. Before Drudge became a big shot "Internet Reporter" he even posted at FR.

It's just filling a void not provided by the main stream news meida. It's not really weired at all.

God is always good!

Actually they have a policy of allowing some dessent at DailyKos. If you are looking for the Free Republic of the Left it will be found at this URL.

http://www. democraticunderground.com/

These people have a blatent policy of NO Conservative/Libertarian/ Constitutionalist posters which makes them more like FreeRepublic with their policy of no Liberal/Progressive posters.

Sometimes I think that Jim Robinson has his fingers in BOTH FR and DU so that he can grift money from both the "Left" and the "Right". They operate so identically. (Strict ideological membership policies and quarterly "SnookerThons" with progress bars for grifting money.)

Hey marine.. how are ya?

We are open here to all viewpoints.. the only time there is an issue is when posters come here just to disrupt.. those types we do take issue with otherwise we're pretty much hands off...

Oh I see.. I wasnt sure where you were headed with the question..

Neil is our websmaster ..4 has a totally different look than LP (thank God and our web designer)but the software is the same although we've 'tweaked' it a bit.. the treatment Neil received on LP was inexcusable IMO.

As far as LP goes I left several years ago.. it was obvious where it was headed. paid posters and shills abound there .. the inconsistencies were one of the many reasons I left..as I said before, IMO it is the FR annex.. I thought it odd when I left FR JimRob kept telling people to go to LP.. it struck me that possibly it was controlled dissent .. and he also posted on LP several times.. which I also think is strange.. I cannot imagine myself going to another forum and posting there in the way he did on LP.. now the shills and professional posters are on that attack.. vicious and unyielding..
